Can you tell us who is in the band and how old they are?

How and when did it start?
我們於2000年組成前Zne’f, , 最初由 阿原(bassist), 恆(drum), 及 Guy (guitarist) 組成, 不久 傑(vocal) 加入, 組成了 z"nef. 可惜在最初的 3 年樂隊經過不少的人事變動, 及因為種種原因未能確立音樂的風格. 主音更因某些原因離開樂隊. 2003 年樂隊再次重組, 最後一名成員 偉(guitarist) 加入樂隊. 在過去的兩年間樂隊確立了其音樂的風格---metal. 在 04 年年尾, 傑 重返樂隊擔任主音. 其後 z"nef 得到機會在某些 band show 中演出, 以及開始創作自己的音樂. 在 05 年的夏天, z"nef 改名為 Rusty Cross
Rusty cross was originally named "z"nef", which was first formed by Yuen(bassist), Hang(drum) and Guy(guitar) in 2000. After that Kit(vocal) joined the band. Unfortunately the band's line up has changed many times, and still couldn't find the most suitable music style and direction for the band because of many reasons. Also Kit left the band for some reasons. In 2003 the band regrouped, the last member Wai(guitaist) joined the band. Finally in the last 2 years, the band found their music style---Metal. And at the end of 2004, Kit came back to the band. The band settled down and Z'nef was given a chance to perform at some shows, and started writing their own songs. In the summer of 2005, the band was renamed Rusty Cross.

Your profile on the Live Life, No Rules page says that you guys recently decided to play metal. Why did you guys choose “metal”? What about “metal” is so special to you guys?
因為Metal這風格是我們認為最有力量, 最合適去表現出我們內心所想的不滿, 表達我們的陰暗面及批判我們想批判的事.

Metal的獨特之處是有正面和負面的, 因此我們可以善用這種特性去表達多方面的情緒及感受.

Coz metal is the most powerful music style and it’s the best way to express all he negative emotion. Metal can be positive or negative, we can express our emotion in both ways.

Can you explain your band’s interesting name “Rusty Cross”? Are you guy’s anti-religion?
個名並無特別意思, 同時, 我我們並不是反宗教的

The name doesn’t carry a special meaning but we’re not anti-religion.

As a band, what foreign bands are your main influences?
Trivium, Slayer, Pantera .soilwork, The haunted etc     

What local bands have influenced you?
      所有本地的金屬樂團
      All the local metal bands

As a drummer, what bands or musicians have influenced you?
Vinnie Paul, Joey Jordison, Mike Portnoy

As a guitar player, bass player what bands or musicians have influenced you?
偉:Dimebag, Zakk Wylde, Alex skolnick
Guy: Dimebag, John Petrucci, Andy Temmons, Matt Heafy

Philip Anselmo, Randy Blythe

What do you like to write about in your lyrics? What inspires you to write lyrics?
多數寫自已的感受, 內心的精神問題
Mostly about things inside, mentally and emotional

What is your dream show that you want to play one day?
Ozzfest
迷笛音樂節.(MIDI Festival)

 What was the first show you watched in Hong Kong?
將軍澳厚德邨青少年中心的Band show.
A show in a youth center in Tsueng Kwan O which is years ago(lol)

What do you remember from that show?
我們第一個Show, 一個字: 正!!

What is the future for your band? What do you hope Rusty Cross can accomplish one day?
寫歌同寫歌, 表演同表演
Keep composing, and performing

What do you hope is the future of Hong Kong’s music community?
再多元化一點, 接受程度大一點.
More music style, and can be more acceptable

How about Hong Kong’s metal community?
更多Metal band, 大家更加團結.
More metal bands and all the metal bands can be united
