man – i’m still thinking about how amazing the LLNR show was! from the first band to the last!

hypothalamus was the first band that played and they only played one song…the LLNR “theme” song which was great…they sound like a mix of as i lay dying and other swedish metal bands…awesome stuff…

then came one of our all-time favorite bands in hong kong {thelovesong}…man – this band…what can i say about this band…this is the type of band that i love watching with my eyes closed (how do i watch then? hahaha…) and let my entire being just feel the music…i love the three person backing vocals – so awesome…

then came our brother Shum band – SIQ…now this is just pure quality music…no bullshit in this band – they don’t give a negative vibe or anything…just pure quality music with a colorful singer with so much to say about life and society…incredible band and an incredible singer/person…someone that is SOOOOOOOOOOO supportive of the Hong Kong music community…

then came up the new breed of Hong Kong hardcore: Engrave Thy Heart…who RULE every time we’ve seen them play…they just get better and better…but the best part for me – is that their singer is VERY vocal about social issues…just like what hardcore is and should be about in the first place.

then came up our old friends “Yi Sik Lao” and to us its so touching to see that these guys have grown up to play in such a great band. we’ve known them since they played in a band called Choke…since then they’ve changed their music style greatly – from very heavy music to very emotional music…they’re an awesome band and we’re proud of how good they’ve become! we’ve known their singer “ah lai” for a LONG LONG time! :-) i remember when he was a HUGE supporter of King Ly Chee and used to come to all our shows and sing ALL our words together with us…then when Choke came out we were SO supportive of his band…now he’s got a brand new emotional/rock band called “Yi Sik Lao” and all of you guys should check them out! i remember one time a long time ago he said on stage “not only heavy music is good…” and any TRUE supporter of King Ly Chee should already know this. even the King Ly Chee guys listen to music from hip hop to jazz to metal to punk to emo to whatever…there’s beauty and something to learn from EVERY type of music…

then came us…and i don’t want to talk about ourselves…all i know is that you guys create King Ly Chee’s positive atmosphere…its just amazing to see everyone singing along – its not only heavy music fans, but its ALL music fans who come and support us…because our supporters know that King Ly Chee is not just about music – the message is important……so thank you everyone for helping us out and always supporting us…it was great again, to see all the other bands in the pit supporting us too: Shepherds the Weak, Yi Sik Lao, Engrave Thy Heart, {thelovesong}, Die in Velvet, hypothalamus, SIQ, and so many other people…

then came on a new young band called EMP who were pretty good too! they played a long set and the original songs they played were good…can’t wait to see what these guys will sound like in a few years!

anyway…what an amazing night…the best was seeing all the different styles of music playing together and all the bands hanging out with each other. that is the beauty of Hong Kong music – that even though we all play different types of music, and some of us have different lifestyles too…that at the end of the day, we all get along and support each other. we all have respect for each other.

to all the bands that played that show – THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SUPPORTING US!!!

wow…what an amazing show last night…from the first band to the last – every band was just awesome and represented the Hong Kong scene so well!!! a special thank you to irene for organizing the whole show and taking care of everything…

it was great to see so many people come out to the show last night taking into account all the horrible things that have happened the past couple of days…so many people still came out to the show to support the bands and our good friends at Live Life, No Rules…

thank you so much for having so much fun when we played! you guys/girls were amazing!!! thank you so much for having so much fun during our new song End of Suffering!!! :-) i can’t begin to tell you how GREAT the feeling is when the audience fully supports a band’s new music and songs…means SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much…gives us so much more confidence that we’re doing the right thing by playing the music that we want to play…that no matter what, you all are still there to support us all…

okay going to bed…this week we start the mixing process and hopefully send EVERYTHING to the CD printing company on friday…

THANK YOU AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING EVERYBODY!!!

ven though i want to share good news about the e-card that we have put up online and that i hope you have all seen it – and the news that our CD will be out on dec 30 instead of dec 23 (because we can’t finish everything on time) and that our good friends in My Precious (singapore) have decided that they will help sell our CD’s in singapore (THANK YOU!!!)…i can’t be fully happy…

if you don’t know – HK’s Wan Chai district was turned upside down last night by WTO protestors…i was in central when all that was happening and we noticed that all the streets were being closed by the police and that there were SO MANY police out on the streets getting ready for something huge to happen.

then we started eating dinner and all of a sudden the news broke out on TV that the korean farmers were fully attacking the HK police…they were using the metal barriers to attack the police…they were using wooden sticks, and whatever they could find to hit the police officers who were hiding behind their shields…then some of the protestors took the metal barriers and broke the bars off and started attacking the police with those bars. i can’t believe no one died last night…i can’t believe only a few people were injured…

i understand the plight of the s. korean farmers…they have such a horrible situation in their country because of the selfishness of the WTO.

but – the HK police officers are NOT representatives of the WTO. i don’t understand what violence is going to do to help their cause. where before i felt so much sympathy for them and how their lives were being destroyed because of the WTO crap, watching them attacking our police officers with so much anger as if our police are WTO – got me upset. i am so proud of our police for not fighting back. they were trying to stand strong against these stupid pointless attacks – standing strong against protestors using metal bars, wooden sticks, to attack and hit them…but they still did not attack them. they stood calm against this oncoming storm of anger and frustration – but they stayed calm. that is unbelievable…

my heart goes out to the HK police and to all the HK cleaners who are going to have to clean up all the mess tomorrow morning from the streets of wan chai…my heart also goes out to the families of these hero’s who were probably watching on TV and wondering if their son’s and daughters, brother and sisters, fathers and mothers who are in the HK police force were okay…i hope the police can remain calm. i hope the remaining s. korean farmers can remain calm…violence is not the solution…

okay…this week we’ve done two awesome interviews – one with Milk magazine and one with Dong Touch magazine…the interviews will be out in the next two weeks! can’t wait to see them…both of the girls who interviewed us were awesome and actually KNOW about music so that is always helpful…

also our friend Czarina sent us the TVB photos! click here to check them out…

also…a little bit more serious…someone on our forum posted a very powerful video about how protestors in Korea are treated by the S.Korean police force…this is a warning – it is VERY shocking video…so please watch it only if you’re ready…CLICK HERE if you’re ready to see this footage of the poor protestors in S. Korea…we are SO lucky to be living in HK.

hey! bad news! the TVB show was already on TV and we didn’t know! our good friend Czarina told us that TVB already aired the show on their pay-channel on Dec 4! that sucks! she said they’ll air it again but we don’t know when…she has some photos of our TVB performance which she’s going to send to us! woohoo!!! can’t wait to see them and we’ll put them up here…she said that the show did NOT cut out anything from our performance! hahahaha…awesome…

so – a lot of our supporters on our forum who went to the WTO protests have told us that the actual situations with the S.Korean protestors attacking the police officers was a very SMALL incident. they said that the whole protest was very peaceful. here are some photos that our friend Ming Wai took of the protest: SOME PHOTOS!

alright – can’t wait to play in a few days!!! see you all soon!!! get those words and voices ready…we’re trying to talk to the organizers to NOT put us last…we understand that everyone needs to work or go to school on monday morning so we’re trying our best to cooperate with irene and the LLNR crew…see you there!!!
