Base of the Earth Bar

w/ King Ly Chee, FatJob, Dzap Dau Dau, Rubberman…

We’ve played this bar before – a year ago together with FatJob…it was a cool feeling to return to this bar and think about how much both of our bands have grown and how much we have experienced.

We knew that this show was going to have a great feeling because of the size of the bar…we remember from the last time that the bar is pretty small and so the audience is forced to stand very close to the band – PERFECT!!! Just the way we like it!!! After the 2 shows we played the week before \9where we only got to play 4 songs total)  we forced the organizer to make us play early so we could play as long as we want and make up for the 2 shows we played before. We played after Rubberman a China band that mixes ska/punk/funk and a bunch of other styles (sax as well!). When we got on stage we asked the crowd to stand up and as soon as we started playing things were breaking everywhere…tables, chairs, bottles and glasses were smashing everywhere and everyone was going crazy…it was such a great feeling and so different from the shows that we usually play in Hong Kong…

Anyway…i’m not going to write much because I will review this show in #8 of my magazine…

We want to thank Patrick and the boss of Gun Gui Dei Bar and all our friends who made this show so incredible…

THANKS!!!

LAM KEI WON!!! Lam Kei won the Asian Band Competition in Thailand!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! To make it even cooler – they also won BEST VOCALISTS!!! FUCK YEAH!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! In other news: Someone on our messageboard asked me if the show this Saturday in Shenzhen is easy to find. It is VERY easy – take a taxi from Lo Wu Train Station and the taxi will only take 15 minutes to get to the bar. It is very near Lo Wu Station (but you must get a taxi). I am sure the show is free on Saturday but I cannot remember…anyway, all the information is posted UP in the “KING LY CHEE’s NEXT SHOW” section so check it out. Lyrics to our new song “Sickened Eyes” are updated so check out our LYRICS section (the Chinese part is not up yet but it will be soon). If you don’t understand the lyrics please e-mail me and I will explain them to you…

Careless Whisper Bar

w/ King Ly Chee, FatJob, Dzap Dau Dau and 10 other bands…

This has been a VERY bad weekend for us…both shows we were told to cut our songs because all the earlier bands played too many songs. Its so unfair for us…but this show in Shenzhen was the MOST unfair show we have played in a long time.

This show had 14 bands and the fucking show started at 9pm!!! WHY?!?!?! We were band number 13 for this show that means we were going to play very late. We ended up playing at 1:30am! Can you believe that? Do you know how tired we were?! It was terrible.

What made me even more angry was that many of the other bands who played this show did not stay to watch us. Even a stupid Hong Kong band called Tat Flip. That stupid band came late, played their show, and then left. It doesn’t matter because they SUCK now – they changed their style. Everybody in the show asked me “hey, why does Tat Flip sounds like Beyond?” That is their new style – Beyond. Good luck.

When we finally got on stage there weren’t that many people left because it was fucking 1:30am. Who wants to see a hardcore band so fucking late! But the people that were there were very excited to see us so we were still excited to play for them. After the intro my guitar didn’t work. I didn’t know what happened…I borrowed Dzap Dau Dau’s guitar and that didn’t work anymore also…then after our second song I gave up…it was too late at night, the organizers of the show did not take care of us, the other bands did not stay to watch us, and now 2 guitars did not work. We finished two songs and tried to play our brand new song “Sickened Eyes” but after the beginning of the song I gave up…

Bad weekend…

Ling Nam College

w/ FatJob, System Map, Deparing Cross, Circle and many others…

This was Ling Nam Colleges first relatively BIG show. The show started off well with a big list of bands playing from J-rock music, to pop/rock music, to death metal…everything. All the opening bands performed well but there was something wrong with the sound. The sound company (Sound Cat) that was in charge of the show did NOT know what they were doing and made each band sound terrible. The band and the band members all played well but because the sound company did NOT know what they were doing…the bands sound was effected.

The cool thing about last night was that all our friends bands played brand new songs – including us! It was great to hear Departing Cross and FatJob play their new songs!!! But again the sound of the equipment was so bad that none of us could hear anything.

All the early bands played too long so the organizers asked us to cut our songs! We had waited all night to play and I had come to the show after working all day. Then they wanted us to cut our songs? I wasn’t too happy…but we cut our songs because we support Ling Nam College a lot and what they’re trying to do to promote music in their college. When we got on stage we noticed everyone sitting down in their seats and told them to get the FUCK up! Everyone arose and it seemed like a RIOT was going to break out! Kids were going crazy jumping around, screaming, yelling everything!!! It was great! Then after our first song Ming ran out and got on the mic and told everyone that if you can’t jump on the ground then to come up on stage! Most of the kids came up on stage with us and ran around!!! It was an amazing feeling! We played our brand new song…but the equipment sucked, because there were so many people stage people accidentally pulled my wires out of the amps and so you couldn’t hear any guitars…hahahaha…it was CRAZY!!!

After that song they told us to stop and turned the lights on. If the audience didn’t go crazy then we would’ve been really upset about it…but the audience made this show one of the best we’ve every played in Hong Kong.

So – from Riz, Alex and our temporary bitch-Ming —- we thank you so much for making this an amazing show!!!
